Powders vs. Creams
The big difference between a cream and a powder is waxes and oils in the base or eye cream. Beeswax, castor oil, jojoba oil, shea butter or silicone are among the ingredients in eye creams which make creamers last longer. Some of these ingredients also contain antioxidants which provide nutrients to the skin. Also, if your skin is dry, these might be a good bet for moisturization.
Eye creams are best applied with a brush for a smooth application. (Although there is room for personal preferences!) Eye creams can be worn alone or over a foundation (which can serve as a concealer or base) or with shadow over it to obtain a smooth, crease free longer lasting appearance.
Shadows, due to the lack of oils in them don't last as long and have a tendency to rub off.
