How to beat the frizzies

With summertime and the warm, hot days of summer, many women find that their hair frizzes uncontrollably with all the steamy hot days that we now face.  The problem is that hair becomes very frizzy. What are some steps to avoid summer hair frizzies?

Understanding frizz

Frizz occurs when there is too much moisture and not enough moisture.  When it's humid, moisture from the air penetrates the hair shaft causing strands to swell and look frizzy.  When the hair is too dry or damaged, it develops a negative charge that causes strands to repel each other, making flyaway hair more visible.

What to do?

Curly hair will benefit from products that lock in moisture while locking out external moisture.  For this, dimethicone containing products are good.

Olive oil is also a great and natural product to use.  Ppour a few drops in your hand and apply to fly away hair.  It also will give the hair shine and luster.
