How to keep that summer glow all year round

Summertime means more outdoor activities, more sweating, more sun and more fun.  Healthy skin really glows with this increased exercise and activity.  Want to know how to keep your skin healthy and glowing all year round?

Here are some great tips to accomplish that goal.

Exfoliate

Slough off the old dead skin by exfoliation with either a weekly body scrub or daily with a lotion that contains alpha-hydroxy acid. There are so many varieties to choose from!  If you love natural, go to your local Whole Foods or Trader Joe's to get a great product that is virtually chemical free.

Bronzers and Sunscreen

Have you experimented with bronzers yet?   Instead of a blush, you might add a wholesome and natural  glow to your skin with a bronzer.   Don't forget to use a lightweight sunscreen to protect your face and body from UVA and UVB rays.  Such sun damage can contribute to hyperpigmentation, a problem that many women are plagued with in middle age.

Heels, elbows and toes

These are some problem areas for women with darker skin.  Ugh, ashiness!  Try using a coconut oil to those areas to soften, moisturize and smooth.

Hydration

Don't forget to drink lots of water this time of year to prevent dehydration and  fluid loss.
