Skin care tips for beauty and health

Through the ages women have engaged in some pretty exotic practices for beautiful skin.  For example, the ancient Egyptians were known to bathe in fine incense for up to six months before marriage.  Today, we have shelves full of anti-aging, wrinkle preventing ,antioxidant containing wonder products that women use religiously to keep that youthful glow.

In this post, we will consider some information from professionals regarding some simple health care practices that can be done right at home.

Cleansing

Experts recommed cleansing the face twice a day with a mild cleanser.  Follow this with a good moisturizing cleanser (vitamin C containing).  Remember: soap is a taboo! And, remember, night time cleansing is a must to remove make up.

Sunscreen

I think that most of us are aware that suncsreen is a must for darker skin as well because common p
roblems, such as hyperpigmentation are exacerbated by sun exposure.  Skin cancer is also a concern as well.  Look for a product that provides combined protection from UVA and UVB rays.

Imperfections

If  you still have vestiges of old imperfections from acne and blemishes,  look at the OTC products containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.  If they don't do the job in two months, visit your dermatologist.

Healthy skin from the inside out

Skin as soft as a baby's...

I think that the path to lasting beauty is from the inside out and not from a bottle or jar. That really isn't too surprising since, like most good things in life, beautiful skin takes work and persistence.  And, the road to success is more likely if you start from the inside  by eating healthy foods. Of course, a good, natural skin cream or oil will supplement these efforts.
I just read some really great information on foods to provide healthy skin on the website http://www.aloelife.com/.  I thought that it was great information to share with those who are seeking great health and beauty.

Let's take a look at a really healthy sounding diet for those looking to glow from the inside out.

Foods for health and beauty

It is recommended to get a good, well rounded balance of fruits and vegetables.  Below are some suggestions.  Remember, that it is important to keep track of serving portions.  A key ot the individualized serving of protein is  your weight  multiplied by 0.6.

A serving of carbs such as potatoes, rice or pasta is one half cup; or 1 slice bread, 1/2 bagel, 1/2 bun, 1 cup dried cereal.

Fruits

Fruits vary but here's some suggestions as to serving sizes: 1/2 large grapefruit, 1/2 half 1 melon wedge,1/2 cup of canned fuits, 1/4 vcup of dried fruit.cup berries.

1 melon wedge

1/4 cup dry fruit

Vegetables

1/2 cup raw or cooked vegetables

Remember also that plenty of water helps to keep the skin clear and fresh as well as flushes the kidney of impurities.
