Skin care tips just for your skin

Skin care professionals are constantly updating to keep us beautiful, healthy and moistured.  Companies are out there feverishsly researching  new ways to help us accomplish these goals and they are improving on what is on the market now.

To achieve your best skin ever, here are some up to day pointers to help keep the best face on all year round.

Dry skin

Problem

Darker dry skin can take on that ashy gray look giving the appearance of dullness. Hyperpigmentation or dark spots are also a hallmark of aging.  What can you do?
Tip

Exfoliate, exfoliate.  By gently sloughing off the outer, dull appearing skin, the younger and smooth cells can quickly migrate to the surface almost literally giving you a new face. Look for vitamin C creams that are gentle and effective in achieving this goal.

Products

At one time the experts thought that acids and peels were too harsh for dark skin.  Experts are now realizing that lactic acid may just be a good thing to use. Lactic acid is an AHA used in skin rejuvenation products.  It is derived from milk and provides hydration and gentle exfoliation.

Oily skin

Problem

Generally darker skin tones have more sebaceous gland activity, lending an oily appearnce to the face.  The problem areas are the foreheat, nose and chin.

Tip

Don't use drying, alcohol containing products to dry the skin as this can strip the skin of oils and through off the ph balance.

Products

Use products that fight sebum-or oily buidup without compromising the moisture in the skin, which could lead to dry, dull appearing skin.

Combination skin type

Problem

This skin type consists of  oily nose, forehead and chin and dryness on the cheeks.

Tip

Oatmeal, soy and green tea have great nutrients that help clenase and moisturize.

Products

Use light weight serums and follow with an oil free moisturizer and sunscreen.  Toners with alcohol, menthol and  other irritants can damage the dry areas and make oily areas on the face worse.
Oatmeal is for soothing and relief treatment. Soy is a great moisturizer, green tea is great as an antioxidant.
