Foundation tips that will make your face flawless

If you are trying to achieve that flawless look with your foundation I just checked out several tips that will add the finishing touches.  Of course, I want to share this information with others and I invite suggestions and tips as well.

Creases & Caking

While browsing through an some old Ebony magazines, I came upon some invaluable beauty advice.

According to Foundation Fixes, to prevent creases and caking in skin that has pimples, pores and other imperfections, avoid powdery foundations. (Some things are so obvious.)  According to the pros, opt for creamy formats that conceal imperfections without settng into grooves or clumping up on uneven skin textures.

Mismatched color

Here's another common sense trick to select color that is closest to your skin.   It's called the "three-swatch test."

Select three shades closest to your skin tone in the area where the neck, jaw and ear meet. This advice comes from Ashunta Sheriff, make up artist to Alicia Keys.  She further adds that whichever color seamlessly blends into the skin is the one you want.  (Remember that there are shade differences in the area of the face, jaw and neck). Lastly, she suggests that you keep the lightest and darker shades to use as we pass through the seasons since the skin will slightly lighten and darken throughout the year.

Spot coverage

This tip, I learned myself when trying to cover areas of hyperpigmentation.  When applying concealer, just dab a bit on the imperfections.  Don't overdo!  This will cause a very notieceable caking in the area of the problem, drawing the eye of the beholder to the  spot even more.

Once lightly dabbing the concealer, apply foundation, which will, more than likely, cover the spot flawlessly.
