SOS: What to do with over processed, breaking hair

Not a few women suffer from over processed hair.  With so many styling options and relaxers, many have thrown caution to the wind in keeping up with the latest trends. Alas, it has happened to you.  Your edges are broken and bare with patches of thinning hair. Your crowning glory is in woeful condition. What do you do with over processed hair with thinning and breakage?

This post will take a look at more healthful and loving measures you an take to nurse your hair back to health.

Over processing damage

Overuse with hydroxide chemicals over a period of time causes so much damage that hair breaks at various areas on the hair strands.  This damage is usually worse at the crown.  In more extreme cases, some suffer from thinning and baldness in this area.  This is called follicular degeneration syndrome.  The hair follicles, or roots, have shut down and degenerated so that they are not growing hair anymore due to the chronic overuse of chemicals.  The solution?  Stop the abuse! No more chemicals.

The solution

It is necessary to get the roots back healthy and stimulated from the inside out.

It is important to drink plenty of water and take  a good B vitamin complex, along with collagen and vitamin C.  Many take MSM in large doses. Check with your doctor.  Many are finding success with  taking MSM in divided doses (one thousand milligrams three times a day.) equaling three thousand milligrams.

On the scalp, take a few drops of rosemary and peppermint oils, place into almond oil and massage the area twice a day with this solution. Refrain from pulling hair tightly in braids or in weaves. Be gentle.

Massage the scalp gently for ciculation.  Also, engage in a regular exercise program which will increase overall circulation in the body as well as to the scalp.

By providing this TLC to your hair, you should have some pleasant results in a few months.
